Cancer Policies
According to the American Cancer Society, 63% of total expenses for cancer treatment are non-medical. These expenses are not normally covered with a major medical policy, and may include loss of income while not working, travel and lodging expenses to receive care, cosmetic/reconstructive surgery, deductibles, coinsurance, experimental procedures, in-home care, etc. Cancer only policies pay a benefit directly to the policyholder upon written satisfactory proof of first diagnosis of cancer. These payments are in addition to any other life, major medical, or hospital coverage and the insured individual has control as to how the money is spent.
